ASME to Offer Webcasts of Three Shale Development and Hydraulic Fracturing Conference Sessions ASME to Offer Webcasts of Three Shale Development and Hydraulic Fracturing Conference Sessions ASME to Offer Webcasts of Three Shale Development and Hydraulic Fracturing Conference SessionsIf youre not able to attend the ASME Energy Forum Live - Oil Gas Shale Development and Hydraulic Fracturing conference in San Diego next week, but are interested in the subject matter, ASME will offer free webcasts of the opening keynote session and two other presentations live from the conference, which will take place from March 17-19 at the San Diego Convention Center.The webcast of the opening keynote, titled Shale Revolution and Global Energy Opportunities, will be presented on March 17 from 105 p.m.-230 p.m. Pacific Time. The session will examine the impact of shale oil and gas extraction on society and the economy, and address the challenges and opportunities associated with this type of energy d evelopment. The keynote will feature will feature Torstein Hole, senior vice president of Statoil Greg Andrews, vice president of operational excellence, upstream unconventionals, at Shell Energy Resources Co. and Fersheed Mody, manager of weltweit research and technology at Apache Corp. A second session, Technological Excellence for Effectiveness and Efficiency, can be viewed on March 18 from 830 a.m.-1000 a.m. Pacific Time. This session will take a look at emerging equipment designs that promise new and innovative approaches to shale development. Panelists for this presentation include Jeff Meisenhelder, vice president of unconventional resources at Schlumberger Keith Peach, executive vice president of engineering at Weir Oil and Gas and Jeremy Pitts, vice president of product development for OSComp.The third complimentary live webcast will be a panel session on the topic Environmentally Sustainable and Competitive Solutions. The panel discussion, on March 19 from 445 p.m.-600 p.m . Pacific Time, will focus on the impact of shale development on local communities, infrastructure, and resources, and the various concerns and issues associated with shale oil and gas production. Moderated by Rich Haut of the Houston Advanced Research Center, the session will feature panelists Darrell Pepper, professor and director of the Nevada Center for Advanced Computation Methods at the University of Las Vegas Phil Grossweiler, director of corporate outreach for MH Energy Services and Mark Zoback, professor of geophysics at Stanford University.The three webcasts are open to ASME members and nonmembers alike, but registration is required for each of them.
